In the past, Sylvia Beach, the owner of Shakespeare and Company in Paris, gave a massive book donation to the ALP. Until today, 45 known books survived (over the years we found them on the library shelves) and I had a chance to work on cataloging and organizing them in the library's special collection. Each book has a bookplate "Ex-Libris Shakespeare and Company Paris" with the drawing of Shakespeare. It looks very nice and I enjoyed working on this project. It brought me closer to the history of Americans in Paris in the early 20th century. While working on this project, I've read the book "Shakespeare and Company" written by Sylvia Beach in which she describes the cultural life of Paris around the bookshop. It was a good read :)
