We had a chill morning in Montecatini Terme and decided to visit the public library. It was absolutely fantastic! The library is housed in a historic Villa Fiorini Lippi surrounded by a beautiful park. We enjoyed the beautiful Tuscan sun and the wonderful trees, and it was a pleasure to enter the building :)
Inside, we went straight to the children's section, which was so charming and made my daughter very happy. It is in a small room. There is a stage, a PC where the children can learn programming, writing and how to use the computer in general. There are also felt dolls that you can borrow and play with. And a few toys. Books and magazines too, of course. The charming title is Topolino, about Mickey Mouse and his friends. We stayed for an hour, had fun and enjoyed the surroundings.
I went to explore some other areas of the library, such as the children's section. There were three rooms of non-fiction books, starting with the 000s and going up to the 500s. There are many, many books, and they also have a space problem, there were many books lined up on top of other books.
These four rooms were a right wing of the building. We had to go home, so I didn't have time to explore the left wing of the building, which probably has a fiction section. In front of the desk, I saw a beautiful handmade shelf made from fruit and vegetable crates. The librarians made a beautiful display of books about plants, and all the books were green in color.
We will definitely return to the library during our stay in Montecatini Terme, it's just so peaceful and beautiful :)
